Sunday Spritiual Thought

The Hymns of the Church are powerful! By listening to them, you instantly invite the Spirit. Here are the words to the Primary song, "A Child's Prayer" :

“A Child’s Prayer,”
Children’s Songbook of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 12–13

ReverentlySing parts separately, then combined.

1. Heavenly Father, are you really there? And do you hear and answer ev’ry child’s prayer? Some say that heaven is far away,But I feel it close around me as I pray.Heavenly Father, I remember nowSomething that Jesus told disciples long ago:“Suffer the children to come to me.”Father, in prayer I’m coming now to thee.
2. Pray, he is there;Speak, he is list’ning. You are his child; His love now surrounds you.He hears your prayer; He loves the children.Of such is the kingdom, the kingdom of heav’n.

Matthew 19:14
Doctrine and Covenants 112:10

We sing that song all the time, but do we ever stop to think about what it really means? The second verse really sticks out to me where it says: Pray, he is there, speak, he is listening. Our Heavenly Father loves us and is there for us, we just need to reach out to Him. Sometimes it's hard to believe that He is listening, but I promise you that He is. He knows your situation and He wants to help you. He loves you more than you can comprehend and all you need to do is reach out to Him.
